2023 Newsletter Vol. 1

Were you ready for this year?

Blizzards in California, a heatwave in Washington state and ice storms in the Midwest; nothing like getting the year started with a bang, right?

I hope everyone's been staying safe and haven't been too negatively impacted by all the flight cancellations.

Shockingly, I only had a handful of flights canceled and these were for personal plans.

As usual, I've been both flying and driving around the country despite weather conditions because that's my flavor of crazy lol.

I'm visiting my mother in Florida at the moment, enjoying(?) the warmth and ever-present humidity.

For a little over a year, I've been down here for a long weekend approximately once a month.

The rest of my time off is mostly spent at home in the Chicagoland area, where I tend to do as little as possible.

Recently, I've been trying to make time to read, do my various crafting hobbies and other very boring things.

Basically, I only LOOK like I've got exciting things happening lol.

News?

Well, as those who follow me on Twitter likely already know, I broke a couple ribs during my Minnesota tour (I slipped & fell in the shower, nothing exciting) and they're still healing.

Ok ok, I also got pneumonia as sort of a side effect of the broken ribs but apparently that's common.

On a positive note: I just toured North Carolina for my first time and I'm happy to say it went very well. I plan to return this Summer.

I'm also making my first Oklahoma trip at the end of March and I'm excited about it!

It's been a little while since I've visited Wichita but I'll be back this May plus I'm considering returning to both Kentucky and Tennessee soon.

In other touring news:

I'm working fewer days per week than I've averaged in the past, which means shorter trips and not as many cities in some states.

To my Indiana and Iowa friends: I'm sorry, but I have had to make tough choices for my health and energy. I simply cannot handle 4 cities in 4 days as I once did.

I WILL visit both Fort Wayne & South Bend at least once this year but I don't yet know when that might happen.

Des Moines? I currently don't know but odds are, I'll head your way again before too long.

Ohio gentlemen, I miss you too but unfortunately, a return is not in the works at this time.
